Sweden: Recommended vaccinations
- COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for individuals 18 years and above with immunosuppression, those 50 years of above belonging to certain risk groups, those 65 years and above with assistance in daily living, and everyone 75 years and above. - As of May 2025, vaccination against tuberculosis is included in the Swedish national vaccination program for certain children, and thus funded by the state. BCG vaccination should be given at 6 weeks of age, or thereafter (up to 6 years of age) to children who are at increased risk of being infected with TB, because of having a household contact with origin from a country with increased or high TB incidence. BCG-vaccination is recommended (and usually financed by the region) for children up to 18 years of age with current TB in a close relative or household contact and those planning a longer stay (more than three months) in a country or area with high TB prevalence, if the child comes into close contact with the local population. - 3rd dose only indicated when a pentavalent rotavirus vaccine is used.
- Given to 8-9 grade students.
- For adults above 18 years, dT booster doses are recommended every 20 years (not funded by the National Health system).

- Babies born to a mother infected with hepatitis B will be offered a dose at birth.
- Babies born to a mother infected with hepatitis B are recommended a dose at birth and at 1 month of age, before continuing with the standard recommended schedule (with doses at 3, 5 and 12 months of age). - Persons belonging to risk groups aged 2 years and above are recommended vaccination with a conjugate vaccine including at least 20 serotypes. Some risk groups should also be offered PPV23 in addition to PCV20 or PCV21. All adults are recommended vaccination with a conjugate vaccine including at least 20 serotypes at age 75 years. - Given to students in first or second grade
- Gender-neutral (boys and girls) school-based programme. 9-valent vaccine offered in fifth grade.
- Children 13-17 years are offered catch-up vaccinations (two doses) free of charge through school health care.
